Trump says he is a nationalist and it is fair to give that announcement a possibly negative meaning when used by him, ala "alt right" and White Nationalism.
"Trump Says ‘I'm a Nationalist’ in Appeal to Texas Republicans"

"“You know, they have a word -- it sort of became old-fashioned -- it’s called nationalist. And I say, really, we’re not supposed to use that word.
“You know what I am? I’m a nationalist, OK -- I’m a nationalist," the president said. "Use that word.”"
Tweety is truly a joke, and people find him funny at these rallies. This use of "nationalist" is another funny moment for Tweety in my opinion.
Trump is racist, so being a "Nationalist" can mean "White Nationalist" and that word fits him. I don't think Trump intended to go that far today. Maybe he will tomorrow or the next day, he gets bolder in his lies and proclamations by the day, but not today.
It has been a couple months. Here's a thought about Tweety's "nationalist" tendencies. Bottom line, he's not. He doesn't really understand the term. If you added "White" before "Nationalist" he understands it.
"Is Donald Trump’s Nationalism For Real?"
One could argue he's just a businessman with no commitment to sovereign peoplehood.

"Among the various contentions is that Trump either represents or has directly contributed to a revitalization of nationalist sentiment. After decades of American hegemony, international governance, liberal imperialism, and Europeanism, Trump supporters and their fellow populist movements have reminded us what it means to live in a nation-state, to be sovereign peoples with the right to self-governance."
More to the point.
"It is my contention that Trump is not a vehicle for nationalism and doesn’t represent a commitment to sovereign peoplehood. Trump is what he advertised himself to be—a businessman.
The president views the United States not as a nation among nations, but as a business among hostile corporate interests. "
Tweety is ignorant of what "nationalism" means intellectually, affirming the fact he is, essentially, illiterate, a non-reader. Tweety does not read history or intellectual books.
"The Trump administration betrays its anti-nationalism not in its tariffs, but in its attitudes, which seem determined to embarrass even our close northern neighbor and its prime minister, Justin Trudeau. A nationalist would understand that the Canadian people have their own sense of sovereignty, history, dignity, and, above all, honor, and that to insult all that constitutes far more of a slight than lumber tariffs. Trump pursued this line because he lacks any knowledge of history, without which “nationalism” is cheap, flawed, and flimsy."
"Nationalism" doesn't have to be bad, but the word used by Trump gives him an undeserved intellectual element. Trump is NOT intellectual. Trump uses the word for one (1) reason, to get under liberal's skin and to piss off Democrats.
I do not think Trump has ANY philosophy of the world order. Trump lives by the seat of his pants, and he is one (1) thing: a real estate mogul, PERIOD. You could say he is a businessman. I
As an aside, I think Trump is a weak businessman, but a businessman nevertheless. Trump got ~$413,000,000 from daddy and was a millionaire by the time he was eight (8). If Trump grew the money to $1,000,000,000 I might be impressed, but two things come to mind: 1) I doubt he has $1B, and 2) it's not very hard to double $413M.
A fact of life in America's rigged economy is that the rich ALWAYS get richer, and our system makes it easy!
So, in conclusion, many people, especially the people who hate Trump, will see Trump's declaration of being a "nationalist" as being a "White Nationalist." I'd agree, but also add Trump is a "transactionalist" above all philosophies.
