GOP truth is they fear immigrants will seek the right to vote, and they might vote Democrat. By the way, illegal immigrants do vote because they can be deported and/or go to prison if caught. It is not easy to get legal citizens to vote in any election, so why would illegals risk either jail or deportation to vote?
"The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA) requires that persons registering to vote in federal elections affirm that they are United States Citizens. Failure to do so is a crime punishable under the following statutes:
- Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 611, it is a crime – punishable by a fine and up to one year in prison – for an alien to vote in a federal election.
- Pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1227, any alien who has voted in violation of any Federal, State, or local constitutional provision, statute, ordinance, or regulation is deportable.
- Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1973gg-10(2) any false statement concerning an applicant’s citizenship status that is made on a registration form submitted to election authorities is a crime.
- Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 911 knowing and willful false assertions of United States citizenship in order to vote are punishable by up to three years in prison.
- Pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 1015(f) it is a criminal offense for an individual to make a false statement or claim that he or she is a citizen of the United States in order to register or to vote."

Tweety Trump has his followers believing they are threatened by an enemy that is not real, the "Caravan" of refugees and immigrants. Tweety is making a boogey man out of real, regular people and America's media is failing to show he is wrong and falsifying reality to the detriment of America.

"Trump Laments 'Obama Joke' on Immigration, As Caravan Heads to U.S., Demanding Asylum "
By Susan Jones | April 3, 2018
"(CNSNews.com) - President Donald Trump ended his Easter Monday the same way he began it -- tweeting his frustration about unchecked, illegal immigration to the United States from Central American by way of Mexico.
In two tweets, the President wrote:
"As ridiculous as it sounds [No, American VALUES and Christianity (Jesus) do not sound ridiculous, and are not ridiculous. Tweety is ridiculous questioning American values.], the laws of our country do not easily allow us to send those crossing our Southern Border back where they came from. A whole big wasted procedure must take place. Mexico & Canada have tough immigration laws, whereas ours are an Obama joke. [Obama did not joke about Christian and Constitutional decency.] ACT CONGRESS"
Tweety uses the Caravan and tells lies to negotiate to get his wall.
"His second tweet read:
"Honduras, Mexico and many other countries that the U.S. is very generous to, sends many of their people to our country through our WEAK IMMIGRATION POLICIES. Caravans are heading here. Must pass tough laws and build the WALL. Democrats allow open borders, drugs and crime!"
On Sunday, speaking about a caravan of Central Americans now on their way to the southern border, Trump told reporters: "Mexico has got to help us at the border. They flow right through Mexico, they send them into the United States. It can't happen that way anymore."
Trump also said "a lot of people are coming in because they want to take advantage of DACA." He blames Democrats for failing to take him up on his offer to allow a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million illegal immigrants brought here as children, in exchange for $25 billion to build his border wall."
Imagine what we can do in America with $25B for our crumbling INFRASTRUCTURE!

How about guest workers (immigrants)?
". . . even as Mr. Trump lauded the success of the tax cuts passed last year and the impact of his push to roll back regulations, he often descended into a darker portrait of the country. He returned repeatedly to the theme of immigration, asserting that the country was being overwhelmed by migrants coming into the country illegally. But at the same time he railed against weak borders and “corrupt” laws, he advocated allowing in “guest workers” to take jobs that are hard to fill with unemployment so low, particularly to help farmers."
Guest workers OK . . .
Why is Fox & Friends so angry at these people and the caravan, an annual rite of passage for many years heretofore going unnoticed. What is I about these entitled, rich, white people on Fox & Friends that is so scary and threatening to their life styles?

"Migrant Caravan Arrives at U.S. Border, but Long Road Awaits"
By KIRK SEMPLE APRIL 24, 2018
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/24/world/americas/migrant-caravan-mexico.html
"MEXICALI, Mexico — The caravan of weary migrants that the Trump administration has called a threat to the sovereignty and security of the United States began to arrive on the northern border of Mexico on Tuesday, a month after the group started its journey at the country’s southern border with Guatemala.
Two buses carrying about 130 migrants, most of them women and children, arrived at a migrant shelter in Mexicali, a border city, and were welcomed by volunteers and government officials who provided them with sandwiches, water, medical care and worn mattresses to rest on.
After an hour-and-a-half stop, the participants, nearly all from Central America and fleeing poverty and violence in their homeland, pushed on toward Tijuana, the group’s final destination in Mexico, where many intended to apply for asylum in the United States."
Are these people dangerous? Tweety says they are. Are they?
GASLIGHTING!!!
"Two members of Mr. Trump’s cabinet, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the secretary of homeland security, Kirstjen Nielsen, also weighed in with tough statements about the caravan.
Mr. Sessions said he had ensured there would be “sufficient prosecutors” and immigration judges to defend the nation’s legal interests and handle the arriving migrants. The migrants in the caravan, he said, “ignored the willingness of the Mexican government to allow them to stay in Mexico” and their arrival at the border was “a deliberate attempt to undermine our laws and overwhelm our system.”
Mr. Sessions’s statement did not seem to allow for the possibility that some members of the caravan might have legitimate claims to asylum in the United States."
Caravan organizers estimated that 100 to 300 of the migrants intended to petition for asylum when they presented themselves to American authorities at the border. The United States grants people asylum if they can prove persecution on account of their race, religion, nationality, political belief or other factors, a process that can take years."
Dumb is what dumb does Mr. Sessions.
GASLIGHTING!!!
"Tristan Call, a volunteer with Pueblo Sin Fronteras, a transnational advocacy group that coordinated the caravan, said Mr. Trump’s denunciation of its members reflected “a policy to punish the least protected people.”
Mexican authorities have defended their handling of the caravan, saying that they have acted within Mexican and international law."
OK, I get it. Tweety puts up a boogey man so his supporters have someone to hate. As John Cleese says, extremists need to use their hate, so using it on refugees and immigrants is a good way to use their hate.

"Why Trump Supporters Don’t Mind His Lies"
By Daniel A. Effron April 28, 2018
Mr. Effron is an associate professor of organizational behavior at London Business School.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/28/opinion/sunday/why-trump-supporters-dont-mind-his-lies.html
Even before I read this article I will say Trump supporters accept his lies because they want to believe the lies are truth, in one way or another. Now let's go read. . .
"In his first 400 days in office, President Trump made more than 2,400 false or misleading claims, according to The Washington Post. Yet a recent Gallup poll shows his approval ratings among Republicans at 82 percent. How do we square these two facts?"
I think I nailed it! Read this: [BTW, it is just this author's opinion, and my guess . . . lol]
"Some supporters no doubt believe many of the falsehoods. Others may recognize the claims as falsehoods but tolerate them as a side effect of an off-the-cuff rhetorical style they admire. Or perhaps they have become desensitized to the dishonesty by the sheer volume of it.
I suspect that there is an additional, underappreciated explanation for why Mr. Trump’s falsehoods have not generated more outrage among his supporters. Wittingly or not, Mr. Trump’s representatives have used a subtle psychological strategy to defend his falsehoods: They encourage people to reflect on how the falsehoods could have been true."
NAILED IT! They want his words to be true, so they will dig to find truth. This is not big epiphany tho, if you recognize many Tweety Trump supporters are conspiracy believers.
Very clever Tweety surrogates find ways to see POSSIBLE truth in Tweety's lies, or at a minimum, some other useful parallel universe truth.
"Consider some examples. When President Trump retweeted a video falsely purporting to show a Muslim migrant committing assault, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, defended him by saying, “Whether it’s a real video, the threat is real.” [Wow! Way to go Sanders!]
On another occasion, Ms. Sanders admitted that Mr. Trump had made up a story about how Japan drops bowling balls on American cars to test their safety, but she argued that the story still “illustrates the creative ways some countries are able to keep American goods out of their markets.” [Wow! Again Sanders wins the point! Sort of, by telling a fiction to make a truth.] When asked about the false claim that Mr. Trump’s inauguration had drawn the biggest inaugural crowd in history, Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, suggested that inclement weather had kept people away."
Conway, after all, used the favorite Kremlin tool, ALTERNATIVE FACTS earl on in defending the Tweets Master.
"In this time of “fake news” and “alternative facts,” commentators worry that people with different political orientations base their judgments of right and wrong on entirely different perceptions of reality. My research suggests an additional concern: Even when partisans agree on the facts, they can come to different moral conclusions about the dishonesty of deviating from those facts. The result is more disagreement in an already politically polarized world.
Blame the human ability to imagine what might have been."
I told you humans suck at being humane! Our "imaginations" make us incredibly bad creatures on this planet.
Animals are better creatures than humans because they do not fabricate their reality to justify stupid beliefs and actions.
"Mexico Follows US Lead, Sends More Federal Security Forces to Southern Border"
Is Mexico following US "lead," really, or just doing what they feel is appropriate notwithstanding US actions? Remember, this caravan thing is an annual thing, not new to Mexico. Maybe Mexico feels the safety of these people at their northern border, when they get close to the US soldiers, is at risk.
But are they treating people at their southern border as we treat people at our southern border?
"Despite Mexico's anger over U.S. deployment of the National Guard, the government announced similar measures at border with Central American nations.
Mexico's government announced it was increasing the number of federal police currently guarding Mexico’s southern border in an attempt to prevent undocumented migrants from Central and South America from crossing into Mexico."
No, Mexico is NOT following US lead, they are taking steps they feel will protect innocent peoples.
"According to the Latin America Working Group Education Fund “migrants crossing Mexico’s southern border region face a myriad of challenges and are highly in danger of exploitation and abuse ranging from rape and robbery to extortion and assault.” Furthermore, security forces in Mexico are involved in a series of human rights violations, including rape, torture, kidnapping and murder.
Trump’s announcement was followed by the organization of 'Migrant's Way of the Cross' caravan of over 1,000 Central American migrants who aimed to reach the U.S. after fleeing violence in their communities of origin.
Reports of the caravan triggered Trump to threaten via Twitter that he would leave the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) if Mexico did not stop the migrants. Mexico has complied offering migrants in the caravan the possibility to apply for refuge in Mexico."
