Immigration into American from the Mexican border is not a threat to America, and is not a winning issue. Immigration might be a challenge, but it is not in my Top 5 issues America needs to tackle. Anyone on the street can tell you #1 is the economy / housing, # 2 infrastructure = roads, bridges, electric supplies, #3 schools and education for American youth, #4 defense posture and readiness, and #5 the opiod crisis (legalize marijuana, like we did booze, so weed does not distract resources from addressing the real drug problem OPIODS). As an issue to be addressed urgently, immigration does not make the top 5!
Thne we can also talk about ou moral responsibility which William Blume very smartly reminds us of as Americans who meddled in South America for many, many, many years.

The current mass exodus of people from Central America to the United States, with the daily headline-grabbing stories of numerous children involuntarily separated from their parents, means it’s time to remind my readers once again of one of the primary causes of these periodic mass migrations.
Those in the US generally opposed to immigration make it a point to declare or imply that the United States does not have any legal or moral obligation to take in these Latinos. This is not true. The United States does indeed have the obligation because many of the immigrants, in addition to fleeing from drug violence, are escaping an economic situation in their homeland directly made hopeless by American interventionist policy.
It’s not that these people prefer to live in the United States. They’d much rather remain with their families and friends, be able to speak their native language at all times, and avoid the hardships imposed upon them by American police and other right-wingers. But whenever a progressive government comes to power in Latin America or threatens to do so, a government sincerely committed to fighting poverty, the United States helps to suppresses the movement and/or supports the country’s right-wing and military in staging a coup. This has been the case in Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua and Honduras."
We are responsible for many of the immigrants.
I suspect Tweety will lose on this issue. If his people win in mid-terms it will be based on other issues, and Democrat's failings, like saying too much bout impeachment.

Really? How would you feel if I took YOUR 3 year old, put him in the "care" of strangers, flew him 1,500 miles away, and left him with another set of strangers for possibly forever? Do not tell me you do not feel anguish just reading these words, and you'll feel much, much worse knowing they are TRUE!

I wish there was a God to do to Tweety as a parent, what he is doing to immigrants parents. I wish someone would kidnap Ivanka to show Tweety how it feels to worry about someone you care about. But that is only a small part of the angst in kidnapping scenarios where the 3 year old, pre-verbal, and Spanish speaking children who will certainly suffer irreparable Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder for life!
God, if you exist, save these children from Trump's hate and cruelty! Stop Tweety's kidnapping of immigrants babies, toddlers, and teens.
