"President Trump is playing Russian roulette with the system that has kept our armed forces accountable to elected officials." Tweety's incoherent "leadership" of the military below . . . It's INSANE!
Tweety tweets wrong minded policy, edict by tweet and makes a huge mess of National Security! If Tweety gets another bad impulse like this will he nuke North Korea, and cause the death of millions of North and South Koreans, and probably a 100,000 Americans.
"Trump bars transgender people from serving 'in any capacity' in the U.S. military" W.J. Hennigan, 26 July 2017 [It is not law by tweet, so cannot be implemented.]
Why!? It makes NO sense as it is already passé in DoD. The soldiers are assimilated, effectively contributing, and needed.
As many as 15,000 soldiers, many working in extremely significant skill sets much needed for our National Security. Does Tweety understand how he undermines the safety of the United States, protect the American people? Does Tweety care if he undermines the United States military, and threatens our nation's security.
Does Tweety want to strengthen our military? THIS tweet "policy" goes against that by 1,000%!
I KNOW Tweety does not know how to make America safe; he does not understand "National Security" issues.
"What Trump’s Ban On Transgender Troops Really Means"
Andrew Carleen, July 27, 2017
http://www.wbur.org/cognoscenti/2017/07/27/transgender-ban-military-relations-andrew-carleen
Tweety is establishing a new "norm" for the military in the United States, and it bodes ill form America. Bad things happen when civilians do not have TOTAL control over our military.
"The blame for the precariousness of the current civil-military relationship lies squarely on the president. His disinterest in foreign policy has given generals free reign in overseas conflicts. He has encouraged members of the military to lobby legislators on behalf of his agenda. These actions, along with his flirtation with controversial policies such as this latest ban, are undermining the norms that have kept our armed forces subservient to the political process, and also undermining the good order and discipline incumbent on all uniformed personnel. Who is to say that the Pentagon will be able (or willing) to return to business as usual under a future president?"
Is Tweety unleashing holy hell on the United States?
Example: Tweety's silly Travel Ban does nothing to protect America. It is the immigration process that will protect America, not a "wall" against entry from selected, non-Tweety invested countries (Tweety has hotels all over the world, including Saudi Arabia; Tweety excluded the worst of the terror support countries, Saudi Arabia and he has a hotel there.)
So Tweety bans transgender SOLDIERS from the military that already has 15,000 transgender soldiers working for our safety. How can these 15,000 separated from the military? There is NO PROCEDURE!
Tweety is dumber than dumb when it comes to understanding bureaucratic procedures and processes, or how to help DoD. Procedures and processes take a long time to write.
Tweety says transgender soldiers cost DoD too much! That is misguided and misleading and in perspective, cynical and disingenuous. Tweety spends ~$60million to go to Mara Lago, complaining the military spends about $8.4miilion for gender assignment surgery and treatment. In context, we should look at why the military spends 5X on Viagra!
"US military blows millions a year on Viagra for its troops"
By Lia Eustachewich, July 26, 2017
http://nypost.com/2017/07/26/us-military-blows-millions-a-year-on-viagra-for-its-troops/
"The US military blows $41.6 million a year on Viagra for its troops — about five times more than the estimated medical costs for transgender servicepeople, according to a new report."
So Tweety is either lying, does not care about the facts, or just sick, sick, sick. When do his supporters start seeing his devious, fake work. He behaves in a demented manner using foolish reasons to do things. This is a distraction for sure, but maybe just another impulse to be arrogant and mean.
Tweety LIED about consulting with Generals, and military experts for advice to prohibit any contribution from transgender people. Why does he go against his campaign promise to support and protect LGBTQ . . . Did he lie then too?
The military knew NOTHING about Tweety's tweet policy until he tweeted it.
"Dunford: DoD will implement Trump policy on transgender forces"
By: Tara Copp, 27 July 2017
"Joint chiefs of staff chairman says transgender policy unchanged for now"
27 July 2017
Tweety lied, AND he offered no way to implement his idiotic policy. You cannot make this up!
Before this tweet policy from hell, Tweety embarrassed himself at the Boy Scout jubilee, 24 July, big time, talking politics. Even the useful life lesson he offered was a little silly IN PART, and fake/false/made up (OK, he did it for entertainment value?). Tweety needs adult supervision.
"Harvard Psychiatrist: How Trump's Speech Was Toxic For Boy Scouts Beyond 'Rhetoric'"
Dr. Gene Beresin, July 28, 2017
http://www.wbur.org/commonhealth/2017/07/28/psychiatrist-trump-speech-scouts
"So what is the big deal about this speech? Several issues:
It models seeing the world and people in it as either good or bad, while in reality we want our kids to see shades of gray and understand nuances.
It promotes individual winning as opposed to shared group effort for greater good.
It models devaluing and badmouthing those who disagree instead of listening and conversing.
It promotes distrust of our models of freedom, such as the free press.
It glorifies material wealth and social status above higher values, while promoting the glory of being feared and revered, not loved and respected.
The big deal is that Trump's speech smacked of indoctrination. It had the potential to capture the developmentally normal aspirations of young boys and teenagers to idealize a “successful hero,” and band together for his mission of winning, of defying adversity. But then it subverted those natural aspirations, toward all the issues listed above."
In the Boy Scouts Jamboree Tweety talked about a man named Levitt for a life lesson that was mostly useful and good. But . . . why the yarn about partying on the yacht and letting 12-17 year old boys imaginations wander?
"The Origin of Trump’s Weird Sex Yacht Anecdote in His Boy Scout Speech"
By Ruth Graham, 25 July 2017
"President Trump cursed mildly, taunted President Obama, and reminisced at length about Nov. 8 (“that incredible night with the maps”) while speaking to a crowd of Boy Scouts in West Virginia on Monday night. But one of the strangest passages in the speech at the Scouts’ annual National Jamboree was an anecdote about Trump seeing the real estate developer William Levitt at a party hosted by another developer, Steve Ross. It’s the kind of story Trump loves to tell, but is it true?"
Is anything Tweety says true? Tweety's stories takes me back to the Buena Vista Café in San Francisco in 1969, the mecca of fish stories, and tales imagined and exciting. It was a contest in the Café to tell the best stories.
It is likely Tweety's story is not true 70% of the time. Tweety is a story teller. That is not terrible, but not always good.
"Trump has told versions of the story before, including last year at a speech at a Catholic college in Wisconsin, in which he referred to Levitt’s wife as “La Belle.” (Levitt’s yacht, La Belle Simone, was named after his wife Simone.) The anecdote also appears in his 2004 book Trump: How to Get Rich. (The book was written “with” Meredith McIver, the longtime Trump Organization staffer who took the fall for Melania Trump’s plagiarized speech at the Republican National Convention last summer.) The chapter “Maintain Your Momentum” is less than a page-and-a-half long, and it consists entirely of the Levitt story. In the 1950s, Trump writes, Levitt “was the king.” He scoured his work sites for nails and wood chips to make sure nothing went to waste, and he eventually sold his company for the equivalent of billions. Then, alas, he retired, “married the wrong woman,” squandered years on the Riviera, and so on. Again, Trump arrives at the fateful party: . . . "
More. Tweety embellished the "sex story." TWEETY WANTS TO BE COOL SO MUCH HE MAKES UP A SEX STORY!
BUT, in the end, even if the story lesson is fabricated, it is useful to the 12-17 year old boys, right? I think yes, it is.
"In the book, Trump writes that the party took place two weeks before Levitt’s death. But Levitt’s 1994 obituary in the New York Times reported that he had been at a Long Island hospital for the last 18 months of his life. He entered the hospital after suffering a ruptured intestine and died of a progressive kidney disease, which makes his appearance at a swank Manhattan cocktail party mere weeks before his death seem somewhat unlikely."
Here is Levitt's NOT outstanding legacy.
William Levitt;
"William Jaird Levitt (February 11, 1907 – January 28, 1994) was an American real-estate developer. In his position as president of Levitt & Sons, he is widely credited as the father of modern American suburbia. He was named one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People of the 20th Century.""
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Levitt
OK, given some doubts about Wikipedia sources and integrity of those sources, we should read this with a grain of salt.
"Levitt refused to integrate his developments. The Jewish Levitt barred Jews from Strathmore, his first pre-Levittown development on Long Island in New York, and he refused to sell his homes to blacks. His sales contracts also forbade the resale of properties to blacks through restrictive covenants, although in 1957 a white couple resold their house to the first black family to live in a Levitt home. Levitt's all-white policies also led to civil rights protests in Bowie, Maryland in 1963."
More.
"Even before returning from the war, Levitt had experimented with mass housing projects, building a 1,600-shack community in Norfolk, Virginia, which was not a success - units remained unsold in 1950.[5] Levitt & Sons' first successful housing development was located on almost 20 square miles (52 km2) of land near Hempstead, Long Island and was named Levittown. The assembly line construction method allowed Levittown to be constructed more efficiently than other developments at the time, with teams of specialized workers following each other from house to house to complete incremental steps in the construction.[7] Levitt also reduced costs by freezing out union labor . . . "
Tweety appears to admire capitalists that achieve wealth and cares not how they do it. This one is like Tweety, racists. But it appears the media MISREPRESENTED Tweety BIG TIME. Tweety talked about momentum and wise business choices much more than sex on a yacht, but the media seems enamored with sex on the yacht.
"Trump goes on wild riff to Boy Scouts about a real estate developer and a party with 'the hottest people in New York'"
Pamela Engel, Jul. 25, 2017
http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-boy-scouts-speech-william-levitt-party-2017-7
Apparently the story was about momentum and success. Not a bad thing for Scouts 12-17 to hear.
""He [Levitt] had a very interesting life," Trump said. "I won't go any more than that because you're Boy Scouts, so I'm not going to tell you what he did." The crowd [of 12-17 year old boys]groaned. [What a tease, eh? Tell us the salacious details Donald! lol]
"Should I tell you? Should I tell you?" Trump asked.
The crowd responded with an enthusiastic "yes."
"Oh, you're Boy Scouts, but you know life," Trump said. "You know life." [They do? Not from Tweety's perspective for sure!]
Trump then continued his story about Levitt, talking about how the conglomerate that bought Levitt's company "didn't know anything about building homes" or "picking up the nails and the sawdust and selling it — and the scraps of wood."
The conglomerate lost a lot of money on Levitt's company, Trump said, and then asked Levitt if he wanted to buy it back.
"He so badly wanted it, he got bored with this life of yachts and sailing and all of the things he did in the south of France and other places," Trump said. "You won't get bored, right? You know, truthfully, you're workers. You'll get bored too. Believe me. Of course, having a good few years like that isn't so bad."
Trump talked about how Levitt "failed badly" after he bought back his company, and then he went on to detail a cocktail party.
"I saw him at a cocktail party, and it was very sad because the hottest people in New York were at this party," Trump said. "It was the party of Steve Ross who was one of the great people — he came up and discovered — really founded — Time Warner, and he was a great guy. He had a lot of successful people at the party. And I was doing well so I got invited to the party."
He continued: "I was very young, and I go in — but I'm in the real estate business — and I see 100 people, some of whom I recognize and they're big in the entertainment business. And I see, sitting in the corner, was a little old man who was all by himself. Nobody was talking to him. I immediately recognized that that man was the once great William Levitt of Levittown, and I immediately went over — I wanted to talk to him more than the Hollywood show business communications people."
Levitt recognized Trump and told him how bad he was doing with his business, Trump said. When Trump asked what happened, he said Levitt told him that he lost his momentum."
"I'll tell you, it was very sad, and I never forgot that moment," Trump said. "And I thought about it, and it's exactly true. He lost his momentum. Meaning, he took this period of time off long — years — and then when he got back, he didn't have that same momentum." Trump ended the story with a lesson.
"The big thing: Never quit. Never give up. Do something you love," Trump said. "When you do something you love — as a Scout I see that you love it. But when you do something that you love you'll never fail.""
THIS is great advice for the Scouts. It seems a moment of clarity to me, for Tweety. But why did he have to talk politics that these boys. 12-17 cannot easily relate to, or need to hear the mean and ugly things involved in politics which Tweety is better at than it seems anybody.
