American conservatives, Tweety, Fox News, as the big mover and shakers in this, and many others, think we need to call the enemy who they are, otherwise how can we identify them on the battlefield.  So, to use the right words, many folks call terrorists by the term "radical Islam."

In fact, it seems reasonable to these folks, not to many, many others including former President Obama in particular, speaking these words, "radical Islam," to make war against 1.6billion Islamists.  That means ISIS, which numbers less than 50,000, is only a sideline to the war on "radical Islam."

Clearly it is stupid to challenge 1.6billion when we only need to kill less than 50,000 . . . Doesn't it?  What am I missing?

"“If you are serious about defeating ISIS, the last thing you want to do is portray the fight as Islam vs. the West,” Fawaz Gerges, chairman of contemporary Middle East studies at the London School of Economics and author of “ISIS: A History,” told CNN."

"The way al-Qaeda tells it, the West is locked in an existential war with Islam. This is how the terrorist group justifies its violence and its fundamentalist ideology. And now it has found a Westerner to back them up — top Trump adviser Steve Bannon."

There is unequivocal evidence that declaring war on 1.6billion people is dangerous.  Right?

So how does Breitbart address this?  Do they "spin" it?

"The Yemen-based AQAP publication has also criticized President Donald Trump and America as a whole.

In October, Al Masra noted that then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, who is “famous for his-anti Muslim attitude,” would cause an increase in anti-U.S. sentiment from Muslims if elected president.

U.S. officials describe AQAP as the most dangerous branch of al-Qaeda. While a U.S.-backed coalition in Yemen led by Saudi Arabia has primarily focused on Iran-allied Shiite Houthi rebels, AQAP has flourished."

"Stephen Bannon earns a place on the front page of al Qaeda's newspaper"

"On Tuesday, President Trump's national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, argued that the president should not use the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism" or "radical Islam" in his address to Congress on Tuesday night but was overruled. McMaster considers the term "unhelpful," according to reports.

"Trump has created an upsurge in militant jihadist attention on America  —  it was previously on America but also on many other targets like Shiites in Yemen, Iraq, and even Syria  —  but this has really refocused attention on America itself," Kendall told ThinkProgress. Jeva Lange"

It looks like Bannon is not so wise when judging his strategy to fight terror.  And Tweety has bought Bannon's approach.  That is a problem.
