Ideologies cannot be killed, we keep saying in America, but somehow America never does what it takes to win the peace.  Never has.

Unleashing the military to do whatever they need to do to win back real estate and "free" prisoners of ISIS sounds good.  It is not good.  Two things are bad:

1. when our military bombs ISIS, they kill MANY more civilians as "collateral damage," like "Oops," we kill non-combatant kids, fathers, wives, or mothers, but we did so with good intent, thus creating two terrorist for each dead non-combatant; AND,

2. when our military is empowered to DO what THEY think is best for our country, that can lead to a military that thinks the best thing for our country is for them to BE THE GOVERNMENT, and the Executive and Legislative branches of Government, the civilians, the non-military people, lose civilian control of the military.

Tweety thinks he knows how to kill ISIS, but bombs and bullets only kill people.  They do not kill an ideology, and do not solve HATE FOR THE WESTERN WORLD.

"The Caliphate Is Destroyed, But the Islamic State Lives On"

Why the United States can’t be complacent about undermining the remnants of the terrorist group.

The title here says what everyone should KNOW, and perhaps they do know.  Many people, usually the Tweety base, want to believe a dead person ends ISIS.  Sadly, the ideology of hate and terror will live on and on and one.  We cannot kill an idea.

".  .  .  the Islamic State has demonstrated in the past, it’s a resilient and adaptive enemy that almost certainly will not go quietly into the night. Rather, it will work doggedly in the coming months to keep its brand alive, likely through a combination of actions.

First, many battle-hardened veterans will try to retreat into remote regions of western Iraq and eastern Syria, waiting patiently to determine whether both governments are serious about holding and rebuilding newly liberated areas."

More.

"Second, the Islamic State still retains some control over eight global branches and networks, and the group will likely make every effort to deepen operational connectivity across its global enterprise."

More.

".  .  .  finally, the Islamic State will try to adjust its public narrative, using every available platform to reinforce its core messages: that the fight goes on despite the end of its caliphate, and that sympathizers should launch lone-wolf attacks in the West — similar to the one conducted at the end of last month in lower Manhattan."

Short term responses are mere band aids which are useless to end ISIS.  America has done too many atrocities and war crimes against the people of the Middle East, sadly, for perhaps 100 years, to simply kill away the hate and settle all accounts.

The short answer is this: empower Islamic moderates and stop using "anti-diplomacy" to bully Islamic countries.  Read the article for a longer answer that gives this conclusion.  America, not Tweety, has to win the hearts and minds of Arabs, Shia and Sunni.

Sadly Tweety's Government continues to trample on Palestinians, loving Israelis, so ISIS, Taliban, Boca Haram, El Qaeda, and other Terror groups will grow while Tweety is President.
