"Will Obamacare really fail?"

"Obamacare will not collapse nationwide in a spectacular fashion. But its health will vary widely from county to county.
There's no doubt Obamacare is already deeply troubled in some areas, particularly where insurers have fled or have jacked up premiums."

The reality is the ACA coverage in wealthier, better off areas will remain viable,  Sorry Tweety, you have no knowledge of how the plan really works, do you?

Will Tweety willfully sabotage the ACA to get his way?  We will see.  He is a pretty ugly person, so we will see what he does to MAKE the ACA collapse.

"But overall, experts say, the market has been on the mend this year. Many insurers stemmed the bleeding in early 2017 and some are on the path to profitability, according to a recent report by the Kaiser Family Foundation. Other analyses have come to similar conclusions.
"Most carriers will stay and likely be in good shape financially in 2018," said Robert Laszewski, a health care consultant and longtime critic of the law. "The individual health insurance market will not collapse."

Also, a large component of Obamacare is the expansion of Medicaid to low-income adults. This program is working well in the 31 states that chose to expand, extending coverage to roughly 11 million people."

"What failure means: Obamacare, however, could begin to fail in certain areas next year, particularly in rural counties. That would typically mean that all insurers pull out, leaving consumers who buy their own policies with no choice of subsidized coverage on the Obamacare exchange -- or in some cases, any individual market coverage at all. "

More.

"Alive, but troubled: While the market is healthier, it's still not working very well. Some of the problems predate the Trump administration: Some insurers still find their customers are sicker than expected, and there are not enough young and healthy people in the market to offset the costs. But now the troubles in the market are increasingly because of the Republicans.

While Trump says that he and the GOP won't own Obamacare's failure, they have taken many steps to destabilize the market. The president has caused confusion about whether he'll continue key components of the law. The two at the top of the list: the mandate that everyone have insurance and the cost-sharing subsidies for lower-income Americans.

What's more, the Republicans' quest to dismantle the health reform law has left insurers unsure of the rules of the road in 2018 and beyond.

All this has prompted them to either request hefty rate hikes for 2018 or to simply wash their hands of the exchanges, leaving people with fewer choices."

If the Republicans repeal the Affordable Care Act without new legislation for American universal healthcare, America wll return to 2007 with NO HEALTHCARE whatsoever, and will NEVER get a new healthcare plan, EVER.

The "cost issue" for Americans to obtain universal healthcare is obvious - it is the Department of Defense and VERY confused priorities.

Cynical?  Tweety says let ACA collapse!

How can Americans live with security spending so high, so much, so "insurance" liked?  It is DUMB.

Desparate to do ANYTHING to satisfy the egomaniac Prez, Congressonal Republican cowards go for the American people's jugular - repeal the Affordable Care At / Obama Care WITHOUT replacing it.  This move by Republicans is incredibly and obviously cynical, so ugly as to be beyond comprehension for several reasons.

Six / SIX! / 6 reasons America must reject the Republican rationale for repealing the ACA without a replacement.

  1. The American people WANT a health care plan.  Americans have the ACA and now see health care as a RIGHT, not a COMMODITY.  At BEST, only Tweety supporters want to repeal "Obama Care" so bad they are willing to go without health care plans for themselves, or for any American for that matter.  Most likely, of the 36% or so Tweety supporters, synchophants, less than 36% are willing to forgo health care plans.

  2. The President's campaign promise requires repeal of the ACA say Republicans.  BUT the promise was not just to repeal.  Tweety said he would REPLACE the ACA with a MUCH better plan.  So we better not hear they will fix the ACA or pass a better plan later because that day will never come.  Everyone with a brain knows if the ACA is repealed, the best evidence it will never be replaced is the current ineptitude of Republicans RIGHT NOW TO REPLACE IT,  They cannot agree on what a replacement is!  The only real, ethical, honest choice Republicans have is to fix the ACA.  Alternatively, research the successful health care plans and implement those in the socially acceptable Single Payer framework used in those successful countries.

  3. How can Republicans not giggle, or look down at the ground, not in your eyes when they say they will repeal the ACA, but it will not be really repealed for four years?  How obviously disingenuous is that!?

  4. Check the Republican accomplishments to repeal, maybe fix, or do ANYTHING about health care for Americans over 7 years under the Affordable Care Act, AND review the last 6 months under Tweety.  THAT is what Americans can plan on if the idiots simply repeal (in four years . . . . . ) the ACA.  Americans will end up back in 2007.

  5. How about doing some research?  The data is out there on 32-26 other countries that have one form or another of Universal Healthcare, and Republicans say it cannot work here in the richest, most powerful country on the planet?

  6. Republicans crank the budget numbers and invariably say America cannot afford Universal healthcare.  How can that be?  We just built a billion dollar aircraft carrier!  We can afford weapons, but not healthcare?  The COST of Universal Healthcare is not an issue for 32-36 other countries, and not an excuse for America!

I argued in other blogs that healthcare is as much a RIGHT under the Constitution of the United States, "pursuit of happiness," as is security.  Actually healthcare comes before security in my opinion.  If people are dying from disease, accidental or even intentional injury, what good is security?  What reason do we have to defend helplessly ill / mentally ill / drug addicted, dying, or dead people?

I cannot imagine a worse scenario for Americans than the ugly lies of Republicans, and their uglier rationale / "logic" to repeal the ACA.

"GOP health care bill collapses"

Senate Republicans will shelve their bill to replace Obamacare, dealing a major blow to Trump's agenda.

""Republicans should just 'REPEAL' failing Obama Care now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!" Trump tweeted shortly before McConnell's statement came out."

No, Dems better not join in.  THAT would be betrayal of the Democratic Platform.

How about doing some research?  The data is out there.

"List of Countries with Universal Healthcare"

"Update 1/21/2013: With the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the ACA (aka Obamacare), and President Obama’s inauguration to a second term today, the US will have universal health care in 2014 using an insurance mandate system.
Thirty-two of the thirty-three developed nations have universal health care, with the United States being the lone exception [1]. The following list, compiled from WHO sources where possible, shows the start date and type of  system used to implement universal health care in each developed country [2]. Note that universal health care does not imply government-only health care, as many countries implementing a universal health care plan continue to have both public and private insurance and medical providers."
