President Trump is impeached, but can still harm America because the Senate GOP has pre-ordained "Not Guilty" verdict in the trial.

Will Justice Roberts sit back and watch as he oversees the trial of President Trump, or will he participate in some manner?

President Trump is Impeached for 1. Abuse of power, and 2. Obstruction of Congress.

Once Trump said Bus and Obama should be impeached, Obama for his immigration decisions, and Bush Jr. for his lies to go to war with Iraq.

"Trump said impeachment would be 'a horror show' and an 'an absolute embarrassment' for Obama's legacy in 2014"

"  -  President Donald Trump supported impeaching his two immediate predecessors: Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He called President Bill Clinton's impeachment "nonsense."
   -   In a 2014 Fox and Friends interview, Trump argued that impeachment would leave a "permanent" and devastating impact on Obama's legacy.
   -   "Do you think Obama seriously wants to be impeached and go through what Bill Clinton did? He would be a mess," Trump said. "He would be thinking about nothing but — it would be a horror show for him. It would be an absolute embarrassment."

I am guessing Trump feels this way now despite his bravado.  He's probably gut wrenched.

TRUMP'S IMPEACHMENT IS AN ASTERISK ON HIS PRESIDENCY AND WILL BE THE FIRST THING HE WILL BE REMEBERED FOR IN THE HISTORY BOOKS, NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING ELSE HE DOES.

""Do you think Obama seriously wants to be impeached and go through what Bill Clinton did? He would be a mess," Trump said in a 2014 Fox and Friends interview resurfaced by CNN this week. "He would be thinking about nothing but — it would be a horror show for him. It would be an absolute embarrassment."

He added, "It would go down on his record permanently.""

Yes, impeachment goes into your permanent record.

What was Trump's standard for impeachment of Obama?

"Trump supported impeaching Obama over his decision to pause the deportations of undocumented immigrant parents of US citizen children."

What?  Trump is all over immigration today, and back in 2014 he felt like President Obama abused his powers pausing deportations?

Did Trump have any other ideas about impeachment?  How about for George Bush Jr."

"Trump argued in 2008 that former President George W. Bush should've been impeached for "lies" Bush told about the Iraq War, which Trump called "a mess the likes of which this country has probably never seen" and "one of the great catastrophes of all time.""

I think the Iraq war was wrong, and Bush led us in committing a horrible atrocity on Iraq and our soldiers committed numerous war crimes as a result of his decision.  I never thought of impeachment though.Trump seems to like impeachment to "undo elections," as they say, but not if it is for his abuses.

The Democrats obeyed their Oath of Office, Republicans were blatant, blinding themselves to the evidence, did not. ignored clear facts, and spent weeks contorting every way possible to excuse President Trump's shakedown of Ukraine, and Trump's refusal to clear his name by providing ESSENTIAL witnesses and documents.

President Trump IMPEACHED. No celebration. President can hurt America-Civil War 2.0?

By disdaining the Constitution, e.g., Article 2 allows me to do anything I want, I am the chosen one, the Emoluments clause is phony, many unethical and illegal acts and statements, President Trump was impeached.

President Trump clearly tried to shakedown Ukraine for personal gain in the 2020 election.

President Trump blocked witnesses and access to evidentiary documents in the Impeachment Hearings THAT COULD HAVE CLEARED HIM OF ABUSE OF POWER.

Nothing the defenders said was truthful or factual.  Trump defenders constantly skirted the truth in every debate, every statement, and their legacy will reflect they betrayed their Oath of Office..

Why?  They are afraid of Trump, need his power and money to get re-elected.  Those Congress people who defends Trump ignored their Oath to abide by and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.  Those who defended Trump chose trying to get re-reelected over protecting the United Stated and the Constitution.

Sad.  Disappointing.  Scary because no one knows what Trump might do to us now.  He is a mad man.

"Impeachment day for Trump: A bruised ego, a Twitter eruption and a winding rally"
At the White House, Trump aides sought to portray the day as a relatively normal one for a president who has faced years of intense political threats.

"“It doesn't really feel like we are being impeached,” Trump told cheering supporters in Battle Creek at a winding rally that ran more than two hours. “We did nothing wrong. We have tremendous support in the Republican Party, like we've never had before.”"

Trump supporters are mired in a fantasy of "innocent Trump" that one day will be revealed as an evil legacy, and this Gingrich guy is one of the sickest sycophants of all of the Trump defenders.

"“He doesn’t like the word ‘impeachment’ or the process, but strategically, this has worked out to his advantage,” said former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, a longtime friend and ally of the president. “I think he is quite happy to have the Democrats stay mired in this universe they have created for themselves.”"

Trump created the mess Newt, not the Des.  Newt KNOWs the truth, but he still plow the field for Trump, for power and money.

What does he mean "we," said the Indian to the Lone Ranger!

"Trump was impeached. So why does this feel like an anti-climax?"

I support impeaching Trump. But it’s hard to get too excited about this vote – especially as he won’t be removed from office

It's not over folks, because we can expect the GOP Senate to exonerate Trump.
