SERVE is NOT SHOOT!
If you want to be a police person. but cannot tolerate the risk of being shot, do not take the job.
Police bosses have to change their approach and policy for arrests procedures so police with guns know using their gun is a last resort, not a primary resort, and they MUST WAIT TO BE FIRED ON before shooting.
Police must be involved in a shooting ONLY when they RETURN fire, NOT INITIATE THE SHOOTING ACTION!
Police must NEVER initiate shooting!
It is not necessary to shoot the black man, or boy, 10, 14, or 25 times either, or in the back while running away, or because they are holding a knife twenty feet from you, or sitting in their car next to his girlfriend with hands on the steering wheel!
Serve and protect the public, the citizens walking the streets, means protect, not shoot to protect yourself. Do not shoot someone because you fear them!
POLICE ARE THE PROBLEM!
Lets us all carry guns and WE will enforce the laws.
The solution is NO POLICE! Let everyone defend themselves!

"He was named as Saheed Vassell, 34.
Vassell took a two-handed shooting stance and pointed an object at police and three plainclothes officers and one uniformed officer shot 10 times, the chief of department, Terence Monahan, told a news conference.
“This was a call of a man pointing what 911 callers and people felt was a gun at people on the street,” Monahan said. “When we encounter him, he turns with what appears to be a gun at officers.”
So shoot before actually engaged because YOU might get shot? THAT IS NOT YOUR JOB! Police are supposed to serve and protect us, not shoot us to protect themselves.
Police more likely to shoot blacks even while they shoot whites too . . .
1. in chaotic situations,
2. make standard (really, the excuses always blame the dead person who, of course, cannot defend themselves - they dead!) excuses after they learn of their mistake,
3. never admit unjustified killing,
4. are ignorant of the black experience,
5. consciously and unconsciously are racist proven by their unjustified fear of all black people, and
6. are poorly trained to work in chaos because if they were properly trained. Training has to acknowledge you can get shot as a police officer. Do not shoot unless absolutely sure you are right to shoot, not just because you feel fear!
Police training must include asking more questions not just shouting orders! Police cannot assume anything including they are heard and understood! Police took the job despite the risk so take the risk and do not shoot innocent black people in the area.
What is worse, a cop gets shot in a crime situation as they do their job the right way, or an innocent bystander who is black gets shot by that police officer>
Who is doing their job? The police officer.
Getting shot is a police risk and should not be a innocent bystander risk!

Police fear the black man!
Too many guns in a chaotic scene, assumptions blacks are dangerous and likely criminals, assuming whites are innocents and victims leads to police shooting blacks for being black!
A security guard is shot, carries gun LEGALLY.
A bystander in a mall is shot, carries concealed gun LEGALLY. Both were "mistakes."
Yes, these were mistakes BEACAUSE of racist stereotypes! bias!

"After dozens of people fled a Thanksgiving-evening shooting inside an Alabama shopping mall — stampeding through the food court and hiding inside stores — one woman told reporters she said a prayer as she ran: “Give the police wisdom and accuracy of shots.”"
People running everywhere to get away from guns and bullets . . . the police did NOT have wisdom, and their bullets killed the wrong man, AGAIN! Being black in a gun fight usually means the black man is the one that gets shot.
"“New evidence now suggests that while Mr. Bradford may have been involved in some aspect of the altercation, he likely did not fire the rounds that injured the 18-year-old victim,” police said in a statement Friday night as they announced that the state would be taking over the investigation."
This is frustrating to read because it seems police are so afraid of being shot they shoot first, ask questions later! If police are so fearful they should NOT be police, EVER!

Going to the mall, shopping for the holidays, seeing a fight, gun shots, helping people get to safety . . . all for naught because a scared police officer is going to shoot you for being in the wrong place and acting "suspicious" as a black man! MANY police are not smart!
Too many guns too - it was not smart for Bradford to pull HIS gun and be black! Holster that gun, man! Of course I am not sure that helped the black security guard.

The death of Jemel Roberson shows that black men aren’t allowed to be the good guy with a gun.

"When officers from the Robbins and Midlothian police departments arrived, one officer opened fire, killing Roberson. According to witness statements given to local outlets, the officer fired even as witnesses told them to stop. “Everybody was screaming out, ‘Security!’ He was a security guard,” Harris said.
“They still did their job, and saw a black man with a gun, and basically killed him,” he added.
In preliminary findings released on Tuesday, Illinois State Police (which is tasked with investigating the shooting) argued that the officer gave Roberson “multiple verbal commands” to drop his weapon before opening fire. “According to witness statements, the Midlothian Officer gave the armed subject multiple verbal commands to drop the gun and get on the ground before ultimately discharging his weapon and striking the subject,” state police said in a statement."
My gut says this is a lie, that if a police officer told the security guards to drop his gun, he would lay it down on the ground immediately. That is what the security guard was trained to do, I am certain!
It is a shame the police were to trained to restrain their fear of black men with a gun!
