Critics shoot from the hip, misunderstand play message. Supporting funds withdrawn out of fear of Tweety.; 2012 version never criticzed. Tweey too dumb to know real message of Julius Caesar.
fyi Obama did not fear the play because he understood the message. Obama no doubt chuckling at stupidity Tweety and his sycophants and surrogates.
Tweety is not aware how the world works, and his advisors have agendas he does not understand.
"Trump's Presidential Theater of the Absurd"
Republican-aligned media accepts and amplifies whatever he says, setting up terrible incentives.

I try not to grab every media title I find, but when I write the title into my search engine and it comes up, the writer and I are aligned. Therefore I use a lot of titles that show Tweety as weak and silly.
Tweety makes himself the fool, with no help from ANYONE.
"ITEM: Trump frequently claims he'll do something -- roll out a plan, make a decision -- "in two weeks" and then does not follow up.
ITEM: Trump's $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia turned out to be almost entirely fictional -- turns out that what "deals" there were preceded the Trump administration, and nothing in the new "deal" moved forward from previous tentative steps.
ITEM: Trump on Monday held a mock signing ceremony for his decision to endorse privatizing air traffic control.
ITEM: EPA administrator Scott Pruitt has been touting 50,000 new coal jobs which turn out to be closer to 1,000 new coal jobs."
"It probably is true that Trump has successfully convinced a lot of people who get their news mostly or entirely from Republican-aligned outlets that he's having one fabulous success after another, so for example a CBS survey last month found 95 percent of strong Trump supporters think he's "effective." The problem is that catering only to hard-core partisans is pretty useless for a president, since those folks are going to buy whatever he's selling regardless of what it might be. "
And really dumb folks are upset about a play, but that is because they do not know what the play states. Does Julius Caesar killers get what they want? No. They lose. THAT is a message AGAINST violence folks, AGAINST what you fear could happen to Tweety. Oh, by the way, under the Obama administration this same play used an Obama look-alike as the Presidential figure, and tried to send the same message. How clever of current Conservatives to overlook both the message and the prior messages.
"Why Shakespeare Can Assassinate Obama, But Not Trump"
By Natasha Guzman, 13 June 2017

"But Delta's former backing of a production of the same play with Obama standing in for Caesar quickly spread on social media. Since no controversy ignited in response to the Obama version, critics pointed out that Delta's claims of moral disagreement with the Trump edition seemed more like a fearful reaction of losing financial support from conservatives. Delta did not immediately respond to Bustle's request for comment on why it did not revoke funding for the 2012 production featuring Obama.
What makes the entire situation most baffling, however, is how thoroughly those upset with the existence of Trump-Caesar completely miss the play's point. As Isaac Butler over at Slate points out, the message Julius Caesar attempts to drive home is the ineffectiveness of violence. After all, Caesar's murderers eventually kill themselves after becoming the targets of an angry mob seeking to avenge their leader's death. And despite the mocking tone in which Trump-Caesar is portrayed, he is ultimately a heroic figure in the play. After his death, he is mourned by a devastated people."
Tweety supporters do not care what the play was about or that the hero is Tweety. lol

"How Outrage Built Over a Shakespearean Depiction of Trump"
By MICHAEL PAULSON and SOPAN DEBJUNE 12, 2017
"Defenders of the production, including some theater critics, describe the Public’s “Julius Caesar” as nuanced, complex and loyal to Shakespeare’s text — a cautionary tale about the costs of political violence."
Why is the New York times saying "defenders of the production?' The message author intended, when he wrote the play, in other words Shakespeare intended was exactly a cautionary tale about the costs of political violence.
Poor way to write New York Times. Very tepid writing actually.
Of course Fox and Friends makes themselves dumb again in the "fair and balanced" UNINFORMED world again.
"On Sunday, “Fox and Friends,” the Trump-friendly morning show on Fox News, gave the outrage its largest platform, running multiple segments on the story. “Notice, nobody has a problem with it on the left,” said Pete Hegseth, a “Fox and Friends” host who appeared with Mr. Trump during his presidential campaign. “Nobody seems to care. It’s only us talking about it.”"
Wrong again Fox guys. Dumb again guys.
"'Julius Caesar' has sparked controversy. But where was corporate outrage when a movie killed President Obama?"
Jen Yamato, 12 June 2017
"On Sunday, Delta Air Lines' and Bank of America's decision to pull funding for the New York Public Theater over a production of "Julius Caesar" which featured a titular character resembling President Trump sparked debate over the role of corporate sponsors in the arts."
Clearly this shows America's ideological and racial ignorance, not to mention failing to understand Shakespeare.
"As my former Daily Beast colleague Asawin Suebsaeng reminded me Monday morning, nary a corporate suit batted an eye in 2015 when a Hollywood blockbuster blew the head off of an Obama-esque POTUS in even more spectacular fashion.
I wrote then of the historic cinematic killing of President Obama in 20th Century Fox's "Kingsman: The Secret Service," the first film to depict the then-POTUS's death onscreen. In it, an Obama look-alike, one of several world leaders in cahoots with Samuel L. Jackson's bad guy Valentine, gets his head blown up in the film's bombastic denouement."
"‘Real Time’ Fact Check: How Liberals Really Reacted to Obama-Themed ‘Julius Caesar’"
Host Bill Maher treated it as a hypothetical counterpart to controversial Donald Trump version — but it actually happened

Bill M. is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he is funny in his monologues.
"Few conservative groups commented on the production at the time, but those that did praised it, like The American Conservative."
