I had a joke: Give gifts in December, Bill, not in November! But truth is Bill's letter and support is meaningless.
What bothers me though is that Bill Bellichick lied when he told reporters he was not political. Bill wants us to believe it was not a political move. Bill, the Donald is busy running for President, so do you always publicize your letters to DJT?! OK, loyal to a friend, but meaningless. Sorry, no one cares.
Bill Belichick says his letter to Donald Trump was not 'politically motivated' but done out of 'friendship and loyalty'

And if the black, Latino, and Mexican, if any, players on the NE Patriots do not see it, maybe I need to point out to them that three rich white men support Trump: Bill, Tom, and Kraft while DJT had Steve Bannon, alt-right white supremacist at the CEO of his campaign; now Bannon is his primary advisor as DJT's "Strategist.".
Bill has distracted his players because he wrote a letter to Donald Trump a day or so BEFORE voting day, 8 November. Why did he need to announce he wrote the letter? Does he announce all his letters to DJT? He says he wrote because he has been a friend of DJT for years. So? Why on 6 or so November, 2016, does he decides to write DJT a letter praising DJT to high heaven as he runs for President AND ANNOUNCE IT? Aren't letters usually private?
I do not blame any football player for ignoring this BS because they are paid well by the Patriots. Maybe they are even VERY WELL TREATED, with respect and caring. But maybe each players should just think a little bit more about the subtle, or maybe not subtle message.
Common man! I am not stupid. The letter was POLITICAL! And a message!
