Now in control of Congress, Republicans are bent on destroying Obama’s legacy

Gingrich and his acolytes have led America to the brink of total failure, not the great place they hoped for, unless they wanted an ineffective, inefficient Government, and a failing Democracy.
"A Very Long List of Dumb and Awful Things Newt Gingrich Has Said and Done"
Still, he may have a prominent role in the Trump administration.

Newt Gingrich turned partisan battles into bloodsport, wrecked Congress, and paved the way for Trump’s rise. Now he’s reveling in his achievements.

Read the articles, or Google how Gingrich set the stage for Tweety Trump to bring out America's very ugliest visage, how we all became our worst selves since the election of 2016.
Trump continues to praise "his" work to bring us a better economy. Was it him or the GOP tax cut? Anyone can sign a tax cut. Tax cuts are actually an easy way out of a bad economy, too easy, and often not sustainable due to bills we have to pay over the long run. Now we have record deficits. Eventually deficits can hurt the USA. I will grant Trump credit for what HE does, not what others do.
Also, on the statistics of a "better" economy, a lot of regular middle and lower class people have not experienced any gains from the economy under Trump. Rich people and Corporations are doing great.
The story of McConnell tells a tale like Gingrich's, about a man who evolved from what was, maybe, a decent person with good aspiration for his constituents, to a power hungry mogul.
Take a look at McConnell's work to block Obama's agenda and his efforts to bring our country out of the worst recession and home market crash in decades.
Many conservatives say Obama abused his power and was a terrible President, but most of that bile uses the wrong facts to reach that conclusion, I think. I think a lot of the hate for Obama is "group think," where people use a friend's opinions based on bad assumptions and incorrect facts.
Of course, Obama made mistakes, but he accomplished an especially historic feat. He helped Americans realize health care is a RIGHT, not a PRIVILEGE.
Anyone can list Obama's mistakes, there were a lot, but choosing NOT to say Islam is a terrorist religion was NOT a mistake because it is true. Islam is not terrorist. The Catholic Church led the Crusades slaughtering thousands of Muslims, but we do not say the Catholic Church is a terrorist religion.
All Presidents make mistakes, but some "mistakes" are crimes. Obama's mistakes were not more than any previous, and mostly less than many past Presidents. Kennedy did some bad things, and so on.
Obama never said he was King or the Chosen One, and, unlike Trump despite Republican BS, Obama understood and respected the Constitution.
Here is a quote on McConnel which I will link below that applies to most middle and "lower" class workers from the article that refutes Tweet Trump's economy success:
"“I’m 47,” she says. “When I was first able to vote, in 1996, I voted for Mitch. He was already getting powerful in Washington, and I bought into the idea that he could do a lot of good for us. But eventually it dawned on me, like a lot of people, this guy really doesn’t give a crap about us. He’s all about stockpiling.
