"Trump Assembles a War Cabinet to Meet Foreign Threats"

by Cliff Kincaid on December 4, 2016

"With the selections of General James N. “Mad Dog” Mattis as Secretary of Defense and Lt. General Michael T. Flynn as national security adviser, President-elect Donald J. Trump has indicated that he is prepared to meet foreign threats from Russia, China, and global Islam. Indeed, Flynn argues in his book, The Field of Fight, that the U.S. is facing a “working coalition” of enemies that includes radical Islamists, Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

The subtitle, How We Can Win the Global War Against Radical Islam and Its Allies, suggests that radical Islam is the main enemy. But the content of the book suggests something else—that Russia and China are behind this “enemy alliance” of countries and movements trying to destroy us.

“We face a formidable group of terrorists and hostile countries, and we’ve got to be better prepared to compete or we will need to be ready to destroy them,” says Flynn."

How nice.  Be prepared is our motto.  Did anyone consider that this sabre rattling might cause other nations to build up their military in response?

Are we willing to look in the mirror and hold America accutnable for our own crimes against humanity?

To start, what does "fake" mean?  Let's just use LACKS FACTUAL SUPPORT, LACKS EVIDENCE.  If there is NO PROOF, it is FAKE.  Some fakes are obvious, many are not so obvious.  An obvious fake is Hillary Clinton in a child sex ring.  That is so obvious you have to be insane to believe it.

FAKE NEWS IS A CRIME!  People who create and those who pass on FAKE NEWS are criminals.  THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW AGAINST FAKE NEWS!  Fake news can destroy America and our democracy faster than flag burning Mr. Twump

"The Washington Post’s Fake News Story about “Fake News”
By William Blum | Dec 2, 2016 | Politics, US, Viewpoints |

"The new Cold War by definition exists to discredit Russia simply because it stands in the way of American world domination."

"A former US ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, is quoted saying he was “struck by the overt support that Sputnik expressed for Trump during the campaign, even using the #CrookedHillary hashtag pushed by the candidate.” McFaul said Russian propaganda typically is aimed at weakening opponents and critics. “They don’t try to win the argument. It’s to make everything seem relative. It’s kind of an appeal to cynicism.” [Cynicism? Heavens! What will those Moscow fascists/communists think of next?]

The Post did, however, include the following: “RT disputed the findings of the researchers in an e-mail on Friday, saying it played no role in producing or amplifying any fake news stories related to the U.S. election.” RT was quoted: “It is the height of irony that an article about ‘fake news’ is built on false, unsubstantiated claims. RT adamantly rejects any and all claims and insinuations that the network has originated even a single ‘fake story’ related to the US election.”

It must be noted that the Washington Post article fails to provide a single example showing how the actual facts of a specific news event were rewritten or distorted by a Russian agency to produce a news event with a contrary political message. What then lies behind such blatant anti-Russian propaganda? In the new Cold War such a question requires no answer. The new Cold War by definition exists to discredit Russia simply because it stands in the way of American world domination. In the new Cold War the political spectrum in the mainstream media runs the gamut from A to B.

About the Author - William Blum
William Blum is an author, historian, and renowned critic of U.S. foreign policy. He is the author of numerous books, including "Killing Hope: U.S. Military and CIA Interventions Since World War II" and "Rogue State: A Guide to the World’s Only Superpower".

I get a sense Blum need a close look; here is a title of a book he wrote.  Is Blume fake or truth?

"America’s Deadliest Export: Democracy"
The Truth About US Foreign Policy and Everything Else

https://williamblum.org/books/americas-deadliest-export

"For over 65 years, the United States war machine has been on auto pilot. Since World War II, the world has believed that US foreign policy means well, and that America’s motives in spreading democracy are honorable, even noble. In this startling and provocative book from William Blum, one of the United States’ leading non-mainstream chroniclers of American foreign policy and author of the popular online newsletter, The Anti-Empire Report, demonstrates that nothing could be further from the truth. Moreover, unless this fallacy is unlearned, and until people understand fully the worldwide suffering American policy has caused, we will never be able to stop the monster."

Look at the TOC and THINK.  Being blind to America's faults just makes you blind, not loyal.  Knowing America's weak spots, our faults, is important to improving our nation, to really Make America Great.

We need to stop being the bully on the block.  And do not fool yourself,  Even under Jimmy "the Christian" Carter up through Obama we still bullied the world.  I have been looking for someone who might be objective about our "adventurist" foreign policy.  Here is one source!

"William Blum Discusses America's Deadliest Export: Democracy"

"[a question] His [Obama] civil liberties record and his foreign policy can be reactionary in some instances. Is there any saving grace in his domestic policy? Is there anything we can embrace about him as an individual in terms of his presidency, in terms of the domestic realm?

[Blume's answer] There's nothing I admire about him [Obama]. My main problem with him is that he doesn't have any strong beliefs. He doesn't believe strongly in anything except being President of the United States. The man is an empty shell in my opinion. He'll go with whichever way the wind blows and if he seems more liberal than the Republicans, it's only because he's in power and they're not. If Republicans were in power, their policies would be very similar to his. There's not really a big difference between the two parties except one is on the out and one is on the in. And they switch that back and forth. So, the one on the out acts in a certain way, and the one on the in acts in a certain way; which makes them appear different, but, in terms of power, they're both the same."

"What's been done to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan is as horrible as anything done by Al Qaeda. So, we don't have to look for Islamic brainwashing, we have American brainwashing."

"Well, we're lucky if any American knows his own name. Orlando Bosch was a baby doctor. And he was two things, a baby doctor and a mass murderer. And that's an unusual combination, I would say. Most baby doctors are not mass murderers. But he and his partner, Luis Posada, blew up a Cuban airliner in 1976 killing, I forget how many people, but many people, including the entire young Cuban fencing team - all youngsters. And he justifies this because he's at war with Cuba, total warfare. There's no conceding one inch. And such a man, if he wasn't anti-Cuban, would be reviled as a horrible person by Americans. But being he's against Cuba, the city of Miami declared an Orlando Bosch day one year back in the '70s, I think. It's an amazing phenomenon. There are brainwashed Americans. Being against Cuba is what they were raised to be, to be against the entire idea of Cuba and especially in Florida, you can't get anywhere without attacking Cuba and communism."
