What is standard for impeachable offense?  A blow job, a burglary?  Using the power of the Presidency and appropriated funds to get dirt on a political rival, i.e., PERSONAL GAIN, not for National Security or any "favor" for the United States.

IT'S ALL ABOUT PERSONAL GAIN, NOT ROOTING OUT CORRUPTION.

"Trump's presidency is built on lies. Does he actually believe them?

The president’s efforts in Ukraine break Watergate’s record for presidential stupidity. What was the point?

Walter Shapiro   25 Oct 2019

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/oct/24/donald-trump-impeachment-inquiry-ukraine-watergate

Before I read the article I answered Walter.  Tweety Trump was angry at Ukraine because they said they liked Hillary back in 2015, se Tweety wanted to hurt Ukraine, and he has hurt Ukraine.  Did I guess right?

Of course the obvious answer is Tweety is dumb.  He could have gathered dirt on Biden without gong to Ukraine and could have avoided impeachment entirely.  He's dumb.

"Without a shred of proof, Trump has been trumpeting for months such debunked claims as: “When [Joe] Biden’s son walks out of China with $1.5bn in a fund … and he’s there for one quick meeting and he flies in on Air Force Two, I think that’s a horrible thing.”

Up until now, the failed 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate held the record for presidential stupidity in the quest for re-election."

Ah, maybe Walter is going with my second notion.  Tweety Trump is very dumb.  Let's read on.

"Imagine, if you will, that the desperate Ukrainian had concocted a paper trail to please Trump. It almost certainly would not have made a difference in an election campaign that will mostly be a referendum on Trump. There is no guarantee that Biden will even win the Democratic nomination – and it seems ludicrous to believe that serious journalists would accept fabricated evidence about Hunter Biden.

Like Watergate, Trump’s Pain in Ukraine threatens to bring down his presidency."

Ya, I think we are going with very, very, very dumb.

What does the GOP want to set as THE standard for all future impeachments, which may possibly include a Democratic President?

The GOP has totally bought into the cult of Tweety Trump.  Look at all the ways the flip to try to justify his Ukraine blackmail FOR PERSONAL GAIN!

"Foreign Policy Has Always Been at the Heart of Impeachment"
High Crimes From the Middle Ages to the Age of Trump

"The current inquiry into President Donald Trump is different. Sometime in December, it is likely that a U.S. president will for the first time be impeached for misusing his foreign policy authority in the service of personal political interests. The evidence laid out in House Intelligence Committee hearings establishes that Trump conditioned the release of congressionally authorized military aid to Ukraine on an announcement by the Ukrainian government that it would conduct investigations of Trump’s political opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, and of the baseless allegation that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election."

THIS TIME IT IS ABOUT NATIONAL SECURITY!

"White House review turns up emails showing extensive effort to justify Trump’s decision to block Ukraine military aid"

"A confidential White House review of President Trump’s decision to place a hold on military aid to Ukraine has turned up hundreds of documents that reveal extensive efforts to generate an after-the-fact justification for the decision and a debate over whether the delay was legal, according to three people familiar with the records.

The research by the White House Counsel’s Office, which was triggered by a congressional impeachment inquiry announced in September, includes early August email exchanges between acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and White House budget officials seeking to provide an explanation for withholding the funds after the president had already ordered a hold in mid-July on the nearly $400 million in security assistance, according to the three people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal White House deliberations."

ANY FOOL CAN SEE THE FACTS, EVIDNCE, DOCUEMENTS, TESTIMONY, AND ADMISSIONS OF PRESIDENT TRUMP PROVES THE CALL WAS ABOUT PERSONAL GAIN!

TWEETY, IT'S ILLEGAL TO USE YOUR OFFICE FOR PERSONAL GAIN.

The truth is there in State Department documents, extensively corroborated testimony, a mountain of facts and evidence, nd all this proves Tweety Trump used the President's office, the power of the Presidency, for PERSONAL GAIN, full stop.

TWEETY TRUMP BRIBED UKRAINE TO GET DIRT ON BIDEN FOR PERSONAL GAIN.

The only honorable action for the GOP is to argue whether what Tweety did is impeachable, full stop.

How can so many people, from incredibly diverse backgrounds and voices, be "Never Trumpers" by the simple act of describing what Tweety Trump does as bad for the Republic?  That is what the GOP wants you to believe.

I see many GOP members, and Tweety Trump "cult-followers" (surrogates that irritate me for their mendacity . . . truth be known; say anything to "clear" the "Dear Leader" no matter how irrational.) denying clear cut, well substantiated facts and evidence.

ALSO, guilty participants tactics in avoiding being tied to Tweety Trump's overreach and abuse of power FOR PERSONAL GAIN is to say nothing HOPING NOTHING IS FOUND TO CONNECT THEM.  But evidence continues to be uncovered to implicate all the silent people.  Pompeo is one of these people.  Is Bolton also one of these?  I know Pence is one of these!

I do not recoil at the Tweety Trump supporters who want to argue that his abuse of power is not an impeachable offense.  Impeachment is a political process and the "high crimes and misdemeanors" standard was made intentionally vague for circumstances the Forefathers could not foresee.  It is fair for GOP Tweety Trump supporters to argue what is and is not impeachable.

BUT I RAGE SCREAM, HAIR ON FIRE, WHEN TWEETY SUPPORTERS SAY THERE ARE NO FACTS, OR EVIDENCE TO PROVE TWEETY ABUSED HIS POWER AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES BY IMPOUNDING FUNDS CONGRESS APPROPRIATED FOR UKRAINE'S DEFENSE AGAINST THE RUSSIAN INVASION FOR HIS PERSONAL POLITICAL PURPOSE!

THIS POSITION OF NO FACTS OR EVIDENCE IS PURE, UNADULTERATED  TREACHERY AND DECEIT, A SERIOUS, SERIOUS CRIME AGAINST AMERICA'S NATIONAL SECURITY AND IT TARNISHES IF NOT FULLY UNDERMINES THE BASIS AND FOUNDATON OF OUR REPUBLIC.

THE GOP IS COMPLICIT IN TWEETY TRUMP CRIMES!  THIS OPINION SEEMS COMPELLING!  THIS IS NOT ABOUT STEALING AN ELECTIN, THE IMPEACHMENT IS ABOUT WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO ALLOW THEIR PRESIDENT TO DO AND RISK FOR HIS PERSONAL PURPOSES.

The GOP lead, Nunes, in the impeachment hearings is clearly a suspect in the effort to find dirt on Biden.

"A lawyer for a criminally indicted Rudy Giuliani associate told CNN that his client is willing to testify before Congress that Devin Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee’s top Republican, met with Ukraine’s former head prosecutor to look for dirt on Joe Biden."

The State Department documents are added evidence of Tweety's abuse of power for personal gain.

"State Department Files Show Giuliani, Pompeo Contact Before Ukraine Ambassador's Exit"

By Brakkton Booker          November 23, 2019

https://www.npr.org/2019/11/23/782311262/state-department-files-show-giuliani-pompeo-contact-before-ukraine-ambassadors-e

"About 100 pages of newly released State Department documents show Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and President Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani had at least two phone conversations in the weeks before a U.S. ambassador in Ukraine was removed from her post.

Additionally, the files show a White House aide played a role in connecting Giuliani's team with officials at the State Department so that Giuliani could get on Pompeo's official call schedule in late March.

The conversations between Pompeo and Giuliani took place around the time Giuliani and two of his associates were working to push U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch from office. She was recalled from her post in Kyiv in May.

These events are central to the impeachment inquiry being led by House Democrats against President Trump. It also pulls Pompeo, who has sought to distance himself from the Ukraine affair, closer to the center of the crusade to oust Yovanovitch."

"Republicans were right about Trump the first time"

By Paul Waldman   Opinion writer covering politics   November 22, 2019

" . . . They knew exactly who he was.

Not only that, a great many of them tried to warn the country and their own party that if Trump became president, it would be a disaster.

They were right. Yet today, the best that can be said of nearly any of them (with an exception or two) is that they try to remain silent in the face of Trump’s misdeeds, ducking into elevators to avoid answering questions about the president they support. And some have become his most passionate defenders, eagerly explaining why the very pathologies they warned about are in fact strengths, and that the man they described as a monster is in fact a hero.

Let’s remind ourselves of what they said back in 2016 when Trump was in the process of seizing control of their party:

  - “He’s a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot. He doesn’t represent my party. He doesn’t represent the values that the men and women in uniform are fighting for,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham in December 2015. In another interview, Graham said, “I think he’s a kook. I think he’s crazy. I think he’s unfit for office.” Graham has now become one of Trump’s most ardent advocates.

  - “This man is a pathological liar, he doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies,” said Sen. Ted Cruz in May 2016, adding that “the man is utterly immoral” and “a narcissist at a level I don’t think this country’s ever seen.” Cruz now insists that Trump did nothing illegal with regard to Ukraine and says of the impeachment inquiry, “Washington is always a circus, but this is three rings with all the clowns and it’s nuts right now.”

  - “Yes, I am supporting Donald Trump, but I’m doing so despite the fact that I think he’s a terrible human being,” said Mick Mulvaney in November 2016. He now serves as Trump’s acting chief of staff.

  - “He offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued,” said Rick Perry in July 2015. “Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.” Perry became Trump’s secretary of energy, then was tasked to implement Trump’s corrupt Ukraine policy as one of the “three amigos.”

  - “During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices,” said then-governor Nikki Haley in February 2016 in a reference to Trump, adding that he was “everything a governor doesn’t want in a president.” Haley became his ambassador to the U.N., and now says of Trump that he’s “truthful” and "great to work with.”

"In Trump’s Washington, the rogue actors are the real players — and the experts are increasingly irrelevant"

The honorable, truth telling members of the GOP have come forward.  But they did so before Tweety went as far as he has gone to bribe and extort Ukraine at war with Russia by withholding appropriated funds until dirt is found on the Bidens, a political act by the President for person gain.  Why are so many Republicans and Tweety supporters willing to sell out their country for the sake of an obvious shyster.

The source of these opinions and reports matters not if the content is replete with FACTS.  Yes, there is bias, bias all around, even on Fox News, against and for Tweety.  I try to avoid the shady, unsupported opinions and reports, hoping to find the facts and the truth.  Are you, my readers, doing the same?

The articles, testimony, obvious widely diverse people highlighting Tweety Trump weaknesses and actual evil, his lies and hate and fear mongering, are not orchestrated.  The "bad reviews" of Tweety Trump come from so many diverse sources, only people, the GOP in particular, who do not want to know, or act, on the truth, can ignore it all.

The impeachment witnesses, for example, are showing there is good in America, and there are good people working in our Government.
